Danielle was born and raised in Long Island, NY. Her parents are from Jamaica, West Indies, so she grew up with the culture in her home. She majored in Psychology and minored in Chemistry and Community Health at Hofstra University. She took a gap year before medical school and worked as an urgent care scribe. She attended SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, where she worked towards improving medical education, research addressing racial disparities in medicine, advocacy and policy-making. Danielle chose Emory because she had a great interview experience and could feel the friendliness and genuineness of the faculty through the computer screen. She believed by being at Emory, she would be able to work in a very diverse and supportive environment, as well as work with a diverse population of patients. Although it is far from her home, Danielle decided she would get great training here and become an exceptional neurologist. Outside of medicine, she loves to play pool, go on hikes, plan game nights and hang out with friends and her dog, Sleepy.
