Simon was raised in Alpharetta, GA, and from a young age was driven by a passion for medicine, especially the field of neurology. He pursed his dreams at the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied biological basis of behavior with minors in chemistry and health care management, and pursued research delving into the study of Alzheimer’s disease through hippocampal subfield analysis. Simon attended the Medical College of Georgia, where he worked as the operations coordinator of Clínica Latina, a free clinic aimed to provide care for those without health insurance and living below the national poverty line. Simon chose Emory University for its broad patient exposure, clinical excellence, commitment to diversity and inclusion and the camaraderie that was greatly apparent between all its residents throughout the interview process. He is enthusiastic to learn as much as he can about neurology, with great interest in both stroke and neurocritical care.
Outside his professional life, Simon is an avid Dungeons and Dragons player and GM, loves to run on the Atlanta Beltline, and enjoys exploring the variety of restaurants Atlanta hosts to share his favorites with his friends.
