Emily was born and raised in metro Detroit. She attended the University of Michigan for undergrad, where she studied cellular, molecular and developmental biology, as well as Spanish. Emily's lifelong interest in the brain grew while working in a research lab that focused on the neural control of breathing and its connection to diseases such as epilepsy. She then attended medical school at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia where her decision to pursue neurology as a career was solidified.
Emily was super excited to join Emory after the great impression the faculty and residents left on interview day. She was drawn to the supportive atmosphere, strong education, diversity within the program and patient population and of course, the year-round warm weather! Emily is interested in all fields of neurology and excited to see where her training at Emory takes her. She starts every day with the New York Times minigames and enjoys spending time with her friends and family, picking up new creative hobbies and finding the best food spots around!
