Daquan is from Brooklyn, NY. He attended Williams College where he was a biology major and concentrated in Spanish Language, Literature & Culture. He taught high school biology and coached track & field prior to coming to Emory for medical school. His interest in neurology came from rotating on the busy consult service at Grady as a medical student--the residents were incredibly smart, kind, fun to be around and the attendings enjoyed teaching. Daquan chose Emory for many reasons: intelligent and friendly residents, the program's emphasis on wellness and diversity, diverse patient populations, multiple clinical training sites, the clinician educator pathway and working with supportive faculty. Plus, Atlanta is a dope place to live! In his free time he enjoys running, listening to podcasts, watching soccer (Go Chelsea!) and trying out new restaurants.
