
Dr. Abideen Salako is a Consultant Paediatrician and Senior Research Fellow at the Clinical Sciences Department of the foremost Nigerian Institute of Medical Research Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria. Dr Salako Abideen graduated from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomosho, Oyo State. A Fellow of the West African College of Physicians (Paediatrics). He bagged a Master’s in Global Child Health and Public Health from the renowned Graduate School of Biomedical Science at St. Jude Research Hospital Memphis, USA, and the University of Suffolk, United Kingdom, respectively. He is a Global Scholar at the Global Paediatric Medicine, St Jude Research Hospital USA. Through evidence-based research and clinical services, he works earnestly and passionately to promote the well-being of the most vulnerable populations, especially children. He is dedicated to improving the health indices of children and the community with a keen interest in HIV/AIDs, Sickle cell disease, and Oncology, among other diseases of public health significance in Nigeria and the global landscape. Dr Abideen Salako looks forward to the immense opportunities the Emory-Nigerian HIV Research Training Program offers to learn, grow and advance female and population health.
