
Dickson Adeolu Adetoye is a young and dynamic public health physician with over 12 years of progressive post-graduation experience. He graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife with an MBChB degree and he has an MScPH (Health Management and Policy) degree from the University of Lagos. He also obtained diploma certificates from the University of Washington on leadership management in health, Clinical management of HIV, and Project management in Global health. He is a Fellow of the International Society for Quality in Health Care. Dr Adetoye has keen interest in research, implementation science, and program management. He has been part of some research work and implementation science in Nigeria. Most of which were directed to pregnant women, children, adolescents, and people living with HIV. He was part of a recently concluded National Institute of Health-funded project, the PEERNaija project. PEERNaija is a novel, gamified mobile health (mHealth) application (app) designed to improve medication adherence among non-adherent youth living with HIV in Nigeria. This research is conducted by Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee (VMUC) in collaboration with the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research and APIN Public Health Initiative. He has presented abstracts on HIV, and maternal and child health research at reputable scientific conferences, including the International Conference on HIV Treatment, Pathogenesis, and Prevention Research (INTEREST) and the International AIDS Society Conference. Currently, he is the state technical lead for APIN Public Health Initiatives in Oyo State.
