Dr Oluwakemi Odukoya is an Associate Professor at the Epidemiology and Biostatistics unit of the Department of Community Health and Primary Care, University of Lagos and Honorary Consultant at the Lagos University Teaching hospital (LUTH).
She has spent the past 22 years of her professional career, building capacity as a public health physician, teacher and researcher. Till date, she has successfully authored more than 90 academic publications published in local and international peer-reviewed journals. She is currently the principal investigator on a NIH funded award which seeks to pilot test the adaptation of two NCI tested interventions to address physical activity and unhealthy eating in a church based setting in Lagos Nigeria. and serves as co-investigator on several research grants in Nigeria and internationally. She has received several competitive research awards at home and abroad including the NIH Global Emerging Research Leader Award; the Fogarty-Harvard-Boston-Northwestern-New Mexico Global Health Research Award; International Society Of Behavioural Medicine Early Career Award for promising global early career investigators and the Deans Award Of Recognition In Grantsmanship.
She is a Fellow of the faculty of public health, National Post Graduate Medical College and holds an adjunct faculty position at the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine, University of Utah School Of Medicine, Salt Lake City, Utah.
She currently serves as the primary mentor for Ms Ladun Odediran on a project that explores retention in care and loss to follow up among HIV positive women in Lagos State.
