
I am a consultant Clinical Microbiologist at Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idiaraba, Lagos. I run the sexually transmitted infection clinic and oversee the laboratory diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections and other infectious diseases in the Hospital. I have clinical and laboratory skills in the diagnosis and management of infectious diseases. I have a passion for teaching and ‘hands-on’ training. I am a senior lecturer in the Department of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology, College of Medicine, University of Lagos, and also the residency training coordinator at Lagos University Teaching Hospital. I facilitate in the training of healthcare workers in acquisition of laboratory skills, infection prevention and control, and clinical microbiology. As a member of the antimicrobial stewardship team, I have actively participated in training, surveillance, feedback, and advocacy; which has greatly impacted the antimicrobial stewardship program in my hospital. monitoring and feedback that has yielded positive results in the hospital. I am also one of the facilitators for the online course on, Antimicrobial Stewardship for Africa by the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAC).
