I chose family medicine because I enjoy building meaningful relationships with patients of all ages and conditions. From my rotations in medical school, I saw how important it was for patients to have a good family doctor – someone who can serve as their medical home, provide comprehensive care, and advocate for their individual needs!
I chose Emory Family Medicine because the program strongly values resident wellness/feedback, diversity within faculty and staff, and growth opportunities. I also wanted to train at a program that focuses on the urban underserved and offers ample time for electives/individual resident interests. The program also supported applicants going through the couples matching process (my fiancé was PM&R), which was a bonus since I already loved the people in the program!
