I chose Family Medicine because it allows me to be my authentic self with patients, consider all the factors that may affect their health and well-being, and look beyond the disease. It innately gives me a position within the community to prioritize the health of the people that are part of it, and it is an honor to work towards becoming that person. Emory Family Medicine is a place that not only focuses on high-quality training but also promotes diversity within the academic setting to mirror the community and its necessities.
To summarize, I chose this program because they care about me as a trainee, the community, and the future of Family Medicine. I have no doubt that this program will make me feel close to home and that everyone will become family.
