Overview
Lihinie deAlmeida, MD is a Critical Care Medicine Physician at Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. deAlmeida also serves on the steering committee of the Global Health Office of Pediatric at Emory (GHOPE) and is a member of the Emory Department of Pediatrics Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee, Pediatric Code Blue Committee, and Pediatric Trauma Committee.
Dr. deAlmeida has been actively involved in medical education, quality improvement and global health. She leads ICU Liberation efforts and is a champion for delirium prevention and early mobility in the PICU. She is passionate about global child health and improving the delivery of pediatric critical care in resource-limited settings. She currently leads a collaboration with Muhimbili National Hospital in Tanzania, is a member of the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis InvestigatorsGlobal Health (PALISI-GH) network, and participates in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine education to resource-limited settings.
