Chinedu Okpukpara named Chief of Anesthesiology

Chinedu Okpukpara (anesthesiology) has been named Chief of Anesthesiology for the Grady Health System. Chinedu served as the interim chief over the last year where he oversaw significant anesthesia growth. He was selected for the role after an extensive national search.

The fourth annual Emory at Grady Faculty Awards celebrated the outstanding accomplishments of faculty members over the past year. At the ceremony, 82 individuals across many departments within the School of Medicine were honored. The Emory at Grady Above and Beyond Award recognizes a faculty member whose performance goes beyond the expectation of their position and advances the mission and vision of the School of Medicine. This year's winners were Amanda Sanders Ma (medicine) and Matthew Zygmont (radiology and imaging sciences).

The Emory at Grady Advocacy Award recognizes a faculty member's significant contribution in the field of advocacy. This year's winners were Jane Ellis (gynecology and obstetrics) and David Gimbel (neurosurgery) .

Health Equity Day call for abstracts

Deadline: March 15

RYSE and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council invite you to submit an abstract and/or award application for the 2024 Health Equity Day. Poster presentation categories include research, clinical quality, professional development, education, and community advocacy and policy. The Outstanding Scientific Citation RYSE Award will support and recognize rising URiM researchers producing outstanding research publications in all research areas. Learn more.

Bridging the Gap: Evaluation of an Electrocardiogram Curriculum for Advanced Practice Clinicians
