Diversity and Inclusion Week logo

Dear colleagues,

This week marks the School of Medicine’s third annual Diversity and Inclusion Week, themed From Being to Belonging. Diversity and Inclusion Week serves as a platform for us to engage in meaningful conversations, reflect on our progress and continued challenges and explore ways to create a more inclusive campus environment.

In Emory School of Medicine, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where every member of our community feels valued, respected and empowered to thrive. Recent events on campus have reminded us that the journey to true inclusivity – and belonging – is ongoing and requires intentional effort from all of us.

As members of this large and diverse community, we must ensure that we hold space for differing viewpoints, while at the same time recognizing and valuing our commonality of humanity.

This week, I look forward to coming together as a community to make the School of Medicine a place where everyone feels not only welcome, but truly at home. I encourage you to participate as your schedule allows.

Today’s events include a keynote address by Dr. Amaka Eneanya, Chief Transformation Officer for Emory Healthcare, who will share her lessons learned from health care transformation. This evening’s art gallery opening reception and Taste of GME event will include food from various countries, cultures and faiths with the opportunity to connect with colleagues and gallery artists about their work.

Thank you for all you do for our learners, our patients and each other.
