Dear SOM community,
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for each and every one of you. Over the past several months, I have witnessed countless examples of your dedication and commitment to our mission, and I am grateful to be part of this team.
I am especially thankful for the sense of camaraderie and support that defines our community. Many of you have Thanksgiving traditions, including spending time with others over shared meals or volunteering your time for good causes. I’ve enjoyed several recent “Friendsgiving” events in the SOM, listening to your stories and experiences and sharing warmth and laughter. One of these gatherings was hosted by our medical students. Spending time with our smart, passionate learners is truly inspiring—and a lot of fun!
I offer a special thanks to those of you who will be caring for patients in our hospitals over the holiday. Whether on Thursday or another day, I hope you all will have the opportunity to connect with family and friends.
I am thankful for all of you—each and every day.
